Nothing is more powerful for opening doors and gaining more business than being viewed as an expert in your field.

In each of us — yes, all of us, there is a unique set of experiences and skills that make us a true expert in a certain area. There is no one like you; no one has the same set of experiences you have.

The sad thing is that most don’t realize this; they think that everyone else holds the same experience and knowledge, which couldn’t be further from the truth. The truth is, there are people out there searching for information that only you have!

What is it that you are an expert in? Isn’t it time you use that to your advantage and use it to excel your business?

Here are Three Steps You Can Take Immediately Take to Position Yourself as an Expert

1. Start a Blog
Blogs are easy to start and easy to update, and in only a few minutes you can be up and running, sharing your thoughts, expertise and products with the world. A blog will not only tell the search engines that there is new content posted on your website — ranking you higher on the search engines, it also captures new visitors (traffic) searching the topic you have written about.

2. Write Articles
There is so much you can do with articles! You can use them to post on your website, send them out to your email subscribers, use them for a newsletter, and submit them to trade magazines and newspapers. And one of the most powerful of all – send them through article distribution websites like eZine or ArticleBase. By submitting them on distribution sites they can get picked up by various websites and distributed worldwide … all leading back to your website.

3. Create an Ebook or Download
More and more people are offering free ebooks or free downloads as a tool to get people to their websites. It’s a great tool when you are giving your elevator pitch at a networking meeting — let them know if they go to your website they can download your free book — a sure way to get them to your website. Or you can sell your information, knowing that you have expert information that someone needs and will be willing to pay for. A free ebook is also a great way to capture email addresses if that is important to you. The visitor will be more than willing to provide an email address to get that ebook free.

Having an ebook also adds tremendously to the “expert” effect. When a prospect sees that you have written a book, you have come pretty close in their mind to being someone who knows their stuff. That being said, having an ebook or download is an incredible tool!

I hope the ideas above have lit a flame inside you and inspired you to search deep within yourself and offer to the world that expertise ONLY you have!
